Celebrity Pursuits - Fahrenheit
IMM's so huge and confusing,
vann and i literally walked around in circles,
looking for some kind of atrium.
finally, in a very surprising move,
vann went to ask the staff at customer service.
:O! your perfect idol - diva vanessa
the stage was at this outdoor plaza on the third level.
they didnt let anyone in so everyone was crowded around the doors. like this.
see how the escalator leads nicely to the doors.
all the fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of... ... angels descending from heaven
abit dark sorry.
it was an oversight on security's side i think.
because there was a bottleneck at the doors,
and the escalators were still moving,
so people coming down at the escalators were squashed as more people came down.
was scary to watch,
and sadistically funny as people halfway down turned around and climbed back up. from the fourth floor after zoomzooming in.
and yes,
that was the only glimpse we caught of them.
i dont know how it worked but fans could go up the escalators,
join a queue (i suppose),
and come down the same escalators into the garden plaza.
it was like watching trains arrive and depart,
as fans came down group by group (controlled by security),
some running down the escalators because,
y'know, its fahrenheit omgzxxzxzxzzz.
meanwhile vann and i hadnt moved from our spot
(which was right in front of a pillar, goodjob thanks to me)
entertaining ourselves by imagining flipping wuzun the bird,
and consequently being pushed over the railing by wuzun fans.
wuzun: "qu ni mama de"
i dont know where i picked up this line,
it sounds like smth jess might have said,
but it cracked us up.
i think dadong was taking pictures of people taking pictures of them.
either that or he waves very weirdly.
it rained abit,
it was nice walking back to the mrt station sharing XXXL chicken,
which was really XXXL.
vann and i both learnt (from each other) a new way to open strepsils.
:D vann and her cute windows.
"because they look like boxes!"
and then i went to meet my mum.
to attend my sister's performance.
but that shall be elaborated another time,
because fahrenheit is not worth sharing the same post as that.
beeeheeeheeeeeeee.
omg too happening.
barely recovered from watching my sexay sister on stage (:D),
then came home to a very high jess and kael and facebook.
:D :D :D
i like barley grains.
and.. potato skin...
*droooooool..
flu got drastically worse overnight.
to put a new spin to the old adage,
my nose is running like.. bolt.
no, not the dog, the sprinter!
made it worse by cleaning out my bookshelf.
that last time i really touched it was when i moved here.
thats like 7-8 years ago
7-8 years worth of dust on some books i dont read and i dont want.
especially this book called Teenagers Ghost Stories,
which i hid behind alot of other books so i dont every have to see it.
anyway,
decided to clean it out because
#1 i think there are alot of books there i hardly read.
#2 i have a dream bookshelf that''s filled with foxtrot and funnybooks and chick lit.
true to a hoarder's nature,
i didnt chuck out all the enid blyton books.
i like to look at them and think, "someday i'll read it to past time."
well time is passing.
but i still keep them.can you believe i managed to find some treasure? :D
from our deardeardearest mr.lim s.k.!
i remember the day he gave this out.
he said, (*does sawing motion with the bookmark on his wrist) "dont use this to cut yourself ah."
and i remember his coupons and worksheets he wrote out himself.
gahhhh i miss mr.lim T-T
another gem :D
i realized we had alot of reading material last time.
wow, almost forgot how much i hated doing bi ji
the only thing i liked about it was my handwriting :D
oh anyway this was a compilation of compositions by the top students.
i remember the first day we got this,
we flipped it to the page with gaoyuan's poem on it,
and it was MAJOR CHEEMOLOGY OMG.
but thats not the point.
the point is... :D
you know what,
i cant even read the title.
Earliest Post Ever.
saw something really pretty..
the moths flitting around the bulb of the lamppost look like glittering gold specks,
like sparks from an ember,
only gravity-defying as they fly here and there and up and down..
"ooh light... ooh.. light..."
in any case,
im up so early because it was the Worst Night Ever.
Sleep was evasive,
my throat was giving me difficulties,
so i tossed and turned (like a hotdog) as the clock chimed 3.. 4...5...
so i woke up to join my mum for breakfast.
woohoo,
jess got into physio and nat into OT!
can go school with them :D :D :D
mum: "i want papadom."
sister: "you sure? you ordered so many things."
mum: "i want papadom."
sister: "dont listen to your stomach!"
mum: "i want papadom!"
sister: "your stomach and your mouth say different things!"
mum (to staff): "i want papadom."
my mum's last weekend was burnt by some teambuilding activity,
so this weekend she was determined to "go enjoyenjoy".
so we went simpang for prata on saturday night.
i like it when everyone "ooh"s and "ahh"s in unison to the football match.
its super cute.
one of the songs from Da Mouth's Wang Yuan Kou Li Kou album is
yong yuan zai shen bian/always by your side,
which is a cover of a japanese song..
.. so i went to listen to the japanese version,
(by Soulja and Thelma Aoyama)
and even then there are two versions,
(one by Soulja feat. Aoyama and the other is vice versa)
kind of like a reply to each other.
and its sooooooo sweeeeeet T-T
from what i gather,
the song is about a long distance relationship,
kind of like, "will you wait for me, even though i havent come right out to say i like you?"
and they're telling each other not to worry about each other,
and of course, that their hearts wont change.
awwwwwww~
HAHA.
sounds very cheesy but yeah.
soulja's voice is so deep,
its almost out of my hearing range.
then again, aisa's voice in the mandarin version is high to the point of shrill.
i like the japanese versions,
but i dont understand it,
i have to read the lyrics as i listen, lol.
The way you looked at the beach in Kamakura,
how the waves swallowed the words I wanted to say to you.
This is really painful, I'm a guy,
so why won't the words just come out?
Do you still remember,
when we went karaoke together,
The lyrics of the song I picked on the monitor,
were honestly what I wanted to say to you
WAHAHAHAHA ROCK LEGENDS NOW CAN LOCK CONTRACT,
NO NEED TO FIGHT WITH PEOPLE ANYMOREEEEEEEEEE.
my sister baked apple crumble.
it is tEh aWesUmzXzxzXZ.
she put a scoop of icecream on it,
and i thought of vann and what she said last evening while we were at mac buying icecream.
"actually i also dont like the fudge on the icecream, because the fudge is hot and it will make the icecream melt! i like my icecream cold! i dont like when they put icecream on brownies and pancakes and all that because the pancake will make it melt! i like my icecream cooolllddddddd!"
watching the backdormboys again.
THEY'RE HILARIOUS.
well.. i didnt drive up the wrong slope :D
passed with a minus 10points for delay in moving off FIVE TIMES.
hopefully when driving autocar will move off faster abit eh.
my mum said now she have to jaga the car after 11pm.
BUT YOU KNOW WHATS THE BEST THING?!
THE BEST THING IS I DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY THE LICENSE!
no, im not sarcastic.
was moping about after the test,
'cos very sian must come back again when i have $$,
then it HIT ME LIKE A CANNONBALL:
IM GOING TO GET MY LICENSE TOMORROW,
AND THE DATE IS 20032009!
OMGOMGOMG.
i was super upset when i failed the first time,
not 'cos i failed but 'cos i missed the nice 30.01.2009 date.
when i was booking my retest i was SUPER sad that i had no choice except for 19.03.2009
and i mean it,
each time i thought of how i missed 20.03.2009,
there would be this sick feeling in my throat and heart and stomach,
BUT NOW IM GETTING MY LICENSE ON 20032009
AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!
i like dates to have meaning, or chiochio one.
even the randomest link between the numbers make me happy.
kael just gave me a link to a website.
hellokittyhell.com
so many hellokitty products omg.
im amazed.
and its quite witty :D
20032009
HOHOHOHOHOHO.
didnt sleep well last night (gee i wonder why),
but i blinked wide awake when i heard beth open her door,
around 5.30 and even before my alarm went off.
its been AGES since i woke up before the sun came around.
and it was raining heavily :c
but during warm-up it was reduced to a drizzle,
and during the test THE CLOUDS PARTED AND THROUGH IT SHONE RAYS OF THE PUREST SUNLIGHT!!
:D :D :D
hurkhurkhurk.
Streetfighter: Legend of Chun Li got a rating of half a star,
which is the lowest rating i ever saw.
as i was ranting to kael yesterday,
movies always have the excuse that "we are capturing the essence of the book".
when you think of chun li, what comes to mind?
the chun li hairbuns duh!
at least the caucasian playing goku had spiky hairrrrrrr.
im not even a dragonball or streetfighter fan,
but this still pisses me off.
Celebrity Pursuits - Da Mouth/Da Zui Ba
i-weekly was holding this weekend bonanza thing at bugis,
to promote the unveiling of the new i-weekly format.
("2 magazines for the same great low price of $2!")
they had alot of events planned,
meet-the-stars of that pingpong show etc.
sidetrack:
i find it so weird that joshua ang and dai yangtian are playing schoolmates, lol.
i get the feeling that there's a big age difference,
but apparently one's 20 the other, 25, so its not that bad, right? D:
back to topic:
the only event that interest me was da mouth's autograph session :D
the last i heard of da mouth was the very funky jie guo lie.
their music is quite different from the usual pop songs.
alot of dancey tracks,
to date, only one ballad (from their new cd)
so they come across like a very happy band :D
at the risk of this sounding like a review,
da mouth consists of:
# taiwan-born japanese DJ zhong hua.
his surname is sakomoto! :D
dont praypray, he's won alot of DJ awards.
# korean-taiwanese-american harry (singer)
at first i thought he was from korea,
he has such the korean face i say.
(no offence meant)
# canadian-taiwanese MC 40 (rapper)
his name is shi lin, so.. 40. no idea where the MC comes from.
and he raps goooooooood.
and his english is gooooooood.
in fact the best thing i like about da mouth is their use of english D:
# japanese Aisa (singer)
her only purpose seems to be to vamp up the act,
not that she's not bad at singing either.
she looks liks faye (from FIR), but i think she's prettier.
and so tiny omg!
her spoken chinese abit weird, but seeing as she only picked it up in 2000,
its actually very good.
sooo..
dragged lionel down to bugis :D wang yuan kou li kou,
i read somewhere it's supposed to be wan jia,
and they broke it up for some reason. it was drizzling abit but people act like its acid rain.
but everyone kept their umbrellas when the rain stopped,
so i could finally see the stage :D the real people.
wearing the same things they wore in one of their MVs. i like taking pictures of the crowd.
the tent was tiny. the location was very weird D:shi linnn.
i dont know how to describe it,
but when i first heard of da mouth, MC 40 was the one i really noticed.
its not a "like".
he reminds me of somebody.
eugene from twe? cleancut, goodboy?
jovin yong? a little ABC, can be irritating yoyowassup kind?
D:
but he's suuuuuuuuuper cute when he smiles! :D!
and now im inclined to buy their album.
this is what happened to FM S.H.E. too!
just went to see them,
then the album grows on me.
but seriously, some of their tracks have really FIERCE beats D:
oh my pretty girl,
pi gu niu yi niu~
HAHAHA.
p.s.
i feel very tired when i see new albums come out.
like, there're so many new songs to listen to.
so many things to chase.
i admire people who know all the new songs on the market.
be it american or taiwanese entertainment scene.
sometimes i feel i can selt-motivate myself out of depressing/angry thoughts.
there's always a choice to be made,
to act in a moment of pique,
or to bear with it for the same moment while you hitch a smile in place.
the outcome is vastly different.
and it almost always works.
ten minutes.
ten minutes to fester and then let it go.
writing helps.
rock legends (facebook) is a dangerous game.
aside from staring blankly at the computer waiting for the timer to countdown,
it opens another can of worms with the who-buy-who thing.
im not going to play any more..
.. after i beat gozar the idiot :D
psst, the new homepage is so weird.
yet, i have to marvel at how the team can change it on such a massive scale
(bajillion facebook accounts? and the who-made-what comments? so many things!)
i know there are codes and everything,
but still.
i feel like sleeping..
its the after-lunch, outside-raining, want-to-sleep feeling.
zzz.
went for driving this morning.
its my last lesson and i want to keep it that way
*prays
got dino :D
but it wasnt a good lesson,
if i drive like that for my test..
third time's the charm i guess.
i dont want to find out D:
halfway through the lesson it poured.
and i realized ive never driven in real rain before.
rain like this.
very heavy, but not a storm yet.
okay bye.
caught stardust on hbo (or cinemax?) just now.
i love the ghosts and the captain! :D
very disappointed by how the witch died though.
so anti-climax ;c
the soundtrack by take that is very nice! :D
yesterday was the Most Happening Day in about a month.
or two.
or three.
that's because every other day i mope about at home,
causing my mum and dad to have the conversation as follows:
mum: "carin everyday run around outside then kristelle everyday sit at home you know."
dad: "ya lo, thats the difference between have boyfriend and dont have boyfriend ma."
mum: "but i got husband i also everyday go out!"
by "out" they mean dance lessons and dance-related stuff.
so yeah.
everyday my mum comes home and "scolds" me for having no friends.
lolololol, not to worry, all said in good fun.
all my friends are either studying or working or in army.
but not for long :D
i mean, the working ones.
vann not working alr,
and jess' free from april~
OKAY BACK TO TOPIC.
a break from the mundane came in the form of martin's passing out parade.
attended with lionel.
asked lionel if he missed tekong. heh :DMarch 10, 2008.
March 11, 2009.
he kept calling us "ma de" and "fa de".
(ahem, "mother" and "father".)
im only 20 days older than he isssssssthey were a whole mass of green,
alot of parents were squinting and zooming in and the guy in front of us asked around if anyone had a binoculars.
well, he's in there somewhere
psst, i circled him out :D
during the march past.
hoho.
apparently theyve changed a few aspects of the Parade.
for one, it was held right after the recruits completed their 24k route march.
according to martin, a few people couldnt take part in the parade due to exhaustion. like this guy, who still took part but was rescued out.
during the awards presentation to the best recruit from each company,
everyone's eyes were averted to four little green people carrying a stretcher running across the field,
totally stole the Best Recruits' thunder.
the guest-of-honour said in his speech,
"the 24km route march is tough. i know. i can smell it."
well, it was true!
when we went to put on the jockey cap for martin,
he was sweating to the point he was in danger of drowning.
tissue disintegrated upon meeting his face.
poor tired souls.
i imagined each of them just went home, knocked out, and will only wake up tomorrow. "goodbye BMTC! hello more gruelling stuff!"
anyway it ended way earlier than lionel's POP last year.
last year there was an accident pile-up on the roads,
we were stuck there until about 7 or 8pm.
lionel's company was also the last one to leave :c
but this time martin's was first! :D
*coughsminister's soncoughs
did i mention mr. george yeo's son was also passing out?
(this sentence should never be taken out of context D:)
Minister of Foreign Affairs.
um.
-insert concluding paragraph here-
and now, for the weather report.
this afternoon's sky was totally cloudless.
accidentally got sunburnt again while swimming
even though i copiusly applied about half the bottle of sunblock lotion.
:c
come evening thunder was rolling about in the sky,
putting weird images in miko's little doggy brain and causing him to go half crazy.
rained abit and now the sky's clear again.
ouch, my back.
what a glorius day! :D
the sky is grey in every direction,
cold wind refreshes my room,
and i think rain itself is fascinating.
finally got around to watching flame of recca.
the first ever anime i watched and loved! :D
another friday the 13th coming up this friday.
i like the title "inglourius basterds" because of the spelling,
although i wont be able to follow the movie,
given im not a history buff.
my favourite part of pet society is betting on the races.
its fun because its something i wont do in real life.
but i cant take the tension of watching the race,
so while the pets are running i read a book.
lolololololol.
its my dad's birthday today :)
yay, dakota fanning's playing jane!
she looks exactly how i imagine jane to look.
woohoo.
the jane in question from twilight, of course.
i like those books on hotels/homes,
each page a gorgeous photograph.
it makes me feel that the world is so vast,
there are too many things that we will not be able to see in our lifetime.
and there are so many things that people can, and are, doing.
things that never crossed my mind,
that i dont think i would ever do.
like graphic design, fashion, technology.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzFpg271sm8&eurl=http://www.neatorama.com/
breathtaking.
very ultra happy today.
got my fruits basket fan book and a foxtrot book
:D :D :D
on a side note,
made alot of death threats to lionel today too
:D
lets see..
its 2pm now and ive been awake 8 hours already.
usually i would've been awake only 15 minutes.
yessss its been long since i saw the morning sun.
went for driving lesson this morning.
my second time at the 8.30am slot.
and about 30 days from the last drive-up-wrong-slope incident.
nice to know i havent forgotten how to drive.
sharuddin even asked if i went illegal driving to practise,
because he said everything still "fresh"
neh heh heh.
i like the instructors.
most of them are nice and friendly and funny.
its a like a cycle - students come and go.
one instructor takes so many students,
its nice that they remember who is who.
i say that because i'd barely walked into the school,
then dino came running up to me - "what are you doing here?! dont tell me you fail!"
lolololol.
he took me for my last two lessons before the test,
and it was just like talking to anyone else,
because we were chatting about achmed the dead terrorist.
and he always make me focus by singing so that i'd block him out.
so everytime i go for lessons i always cross my fingers and hope to tio car no. 166 or recently, no. 134.
(din and dino. lol)
jess' favourite car is probably 164 :D
mr. raymond pang (feels weird to say raymond, because he's like 40+) also teaches well,
also can joke,
but abit communication breakdown 'cos he speaks chinese/hokkien one,
and always on the phone talk about the thai king's birthday and the "why ubi road so crowded? you ask me i ask who? okay i help you ask shen la."
but he talk on the phone also know when i make mistake,
then he will correct.
just abeeeeeeeeeet intimidating ;x
yeah, these three took me more frequently.
i suppose i like them 'cos they know their stuff, can teach well, and can chitchat.
in other news..
its HALLELUJAH DAY tomorrow.
(i didnt know its already thursday)
my sister declared a NO STRESS DAY today,
her friends are coming over to bake and then sleep over to face tomorrow together.
good luck mei, dora, vann, nat, guanz, martin, guangzu.
and i want to own a car.
top of my list - honda fit
i really want a hatchback car.
(for now at least)
honda fit or honda jazz,
mitsubishi colt,
toyota yaris.
suzuki swift not so much,
nissan march even lesser.
yeah, that's quite a moutful for someone who doesn't speak car.
been keeping an eye out for small cars on the road.
sure, there's always the minicoopers and mazda 2s and mercedes-benz.
and i like tuscani's logo.
the poor man's ferrari, lol.
budget, budget.
the appeal of volkswagen beetle's gone down some.
sure i still swoon at the sight of it,
but i dont really want to own one.
and maybe someday when i grow up (not literally),
i'll look at the sedan cars.
but for now - hondafithondafithondafit babbbyyyy
how could i have ever thought that singapore's beaches weren't pretty?
that east coast's beach was any less prettier than sentosa's? white sands, green sea, blue skies, sister's huge foot - what's not to like?
got caught in the rain, but it was fun.
my sister laughed until she flipped at the "carrot juice"
which was the orange/red soil in the rain. remarked then kael and i once played here in the rain,
so we promptly hopped in again.
read marley and me on saturday,
and went to watch it on sunday.
book wins.
i like the writing.
i cant handle a dog like marley.
huge and hyperactive and FULL OF DROOL.
when chucky was here (cornelius' golden retriever),
i couldnt go near him without a mop.
most heart-wrenching was marley's reaction to thunderstorms.
are all dogs scared of thunder?
miko gets that halfcrazed look in his eyes everytime there's a thunderstorm.
i wonder what i'll do when miko passes away...
cook him for dinner probably.
HAHA NO LA, JOKING.
dont report me to SPCA hor!
besides, my sister would have killed me first.
ah, good times.
went for a late night roti prata with my parents and sister.
been long :D
